This multi-campus ARL member is harnessing collaborative network technology to drive innovation with Alma and Primo
Chicago, IL—February 18, 2015. Ex Libris® Group, a world leader in the provision of library automation solutions, is pleased to announce that the University of Connecticut Libraries have selected the Alma® library management solution and the Primo® discovery and delivery solution. The UConn Libraries were looking for an advanced technology solution to achieve seamless integration of all the libraries across their diverse system that includes four libraries on the main campus, five regional libraries, the UConn School of Law, and UConn Health.
”The UConn Libraries is focused on ways to expand efficiencies across the Libraries’ system and we believe the shared management platform provided through Alma will be a major tool in streamlining workflows and highlighting collection development opportunities,” commented Martha Bedard, Vice Provost for University Libraries at UConn. ”Additionally, the unified discovery solution in Primo gives our users a search option that will help them easily find the resources they need regardless of their campus location.”
Eric Hines, president of Ex Libris North America, remarked: ”We are delighted to welcome our long-time partners at UConn to the Alma and Primo communities. Alma is proving to be the platform of choice for research libraries in the United States and globally, with a steadily expanding community of over 400 institutions. UConn’s decision to move both library management and discovery to the Ex Libris cloud demonstrates their commitment to supporting the academic outcomes of their institution.”
