Continually a leader in the adoption of new technological solutions, the University of Haifa chooses Primo to enhance its library users’ experience
Jerusalem, Israel — August 31, 2008. Ex Libris Group™ is pleased to announce that the University of Haifa library has selected Primo® to serve as the unified point of access to all of the library’s collections. One of the first Ex Libris customers in Israel, the University of Haifa library currently runs the Aleph® integrated library system, SFX® OpenURL link server, MetaLib® gateway and metasearch portal, and DigiTool® digital asset management system, all from Ex Libris.
”The University of Haifa Library is very focused on ensuring that its users enjoy the benefits of the most robust and up-to-date technologies that the library automation industry has to offer,” explains Oren Weinberg, director of the University of Haifa Library. ”Our experience with Ex Libris and its products has been consistently positive. So Primo, for which we are developing a full Hebrew interface in cooperation with Ex Libris, was a natural choice for us. The addition of Primo to our technological infrastructure will give users a single entry point to the vast quantity of information accessible within our library and elsewhere. Our users are already looking forward to trying out the Web 2.0 features of Primo.”
”We value our relationship with the University of Haifa Library and are pleased that they have chosen Primo,” comments Oded Scharfstein, VP Asia Pacific at Ex Libris. ”The Haifa University staff has been a consistent leader in introducing new technological solutions to library users in Israel. We look forward to continuing our work with the University.”
