Following a comprehensive evaluation process, Ex Libris (Australia) is pleased to announce that the University of Melbourne has chosen to enhance its information delivery systems with the introduction of the MetaLib® federated searching portal, the SFX® context-sensitive link resolver, and the DigiTool digital asset management system.
According to Nicki McLaurin Smith, Director, Information Management at the University of Melbourne: “The University’s search for the right suite of products began in 2001 with a vision to provide simplified but sophisticated search and discovery technology for its 40,000 staff and students. Combining this with leading edge digital asset management capability has been an important plank in the overall information strategy pursued by the University in order to support its teaching, learning and research. Opportunities to integrate with other systems, such as our Blackboard Learning Management system, were also at the forefront of our choice of the Ex Libris suite of products.”
“We look forward to implementing DigiTool at the University of Melbourne”, says Claudette Pope, Managing Director of Ex Libris Australia, “as their implementation will coincide with the release of DigiTool version 3.0 and its evolution as an institutional repository. It is also a pleasure to welcome the University of Melbourne to the considerable group of Australian MetaLib and SFX customers”.
