The Ex Libris solutions will strengthen UOW Library’s digital transformation by delivering greater value for the university community
Adelaide, Australia—January 29, 2020. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Australia’s University of Wollongong has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform, along with the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution and Leganto® course reading list tool, to streamline library and faculty workflows.
Investing in digitalization has been a core focus of the University of Wollongong (UOW) Library, which has long been dealing with a number of fragmented systems that were time-consuming to manage and inefficient to operate on a daily basis. To align with UOW’s Future-Ready Library strategy, the library team decided to find a strategic partner who would facilitate a shift from repetitive, low-value work to the delivery of user-centric digital services. The solution of choice would empower the staff to further develop digital collections and services, would include a highly advanced enterprise resource management system, and would offer extensive analytic capabilities.
It was clear that Ex Libris understood our digital aspirations, because the capabilities provided by the combination of the Alma, Primo, and Leganto products are an outstanding match for our current and—most important—future needs.
“In an age where collections and their management are becoming more complex, advanced integration and analytic functions will enhance evaluation and assessment, thus improving the quality of decision-making and budget optimization,” said Margie Jantti, director of UOW Library Services. “It was clear that Ex Libris understood our digital aspirations, because the capabilities provided by the combination of the Alma, Primo, and Leganto products are an outstanding match for our current and—most important—future needs.”
“The adoption of the Ex Libris Alma, Primo, and Leganto solutions will enable all of UOW Library’s users to benefit greatly from virtual browsing, resource recommendations, and an unprecedented ease of access to online collections through integrated reading list services,” commented Osher Gilinsky, corporate vice president and general manager of Ex Libris Asia Pacific. “I am pleased that UOW has chosen Ex Libris to partner with the Library in delivering greater value to the university community and in supporting the UOW Library’s digital transformation into the library of the future.”
