Newton MA. Ex Libris™ Group is pleased to announce that the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) has selected the Voyager® integrated library system for use at the National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington, DC. The mission of the NLEOMF is to increase public support for the law enforcement profession by permanently recording and appropriately commemorating the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers; and to provide information that will help promote law enforcement safety.
I have worked with Voyager in the past and was very pleased with its user-friendly characteristics, said Laurie A. Baty, director of Museum Programs for the National Law Enforcement Museum. The systems flexibility and user-friendly OPAC served as a basis for our selection of Voyager.
When we discuss Voyager with those who use it in different segments of the broader information management market, it is clear that Voyager transcends the core library market. With the newest version of the system due out at the end of 2007, Ex Libris is looking forward to Voyager’s use in the museum community, commented Dan Trajman, president of Ex Libris, Inc. Flexibility is the key to the Voyager system. Thanks to a set of intelligent modules, the configuration of an information-management system that grows as an institutions needs grow and change is not only possible but easy. This modular structure maximizes the use of institutional resources while complying with the changes taking place in this constantly evolving industry.
About the National Law Enforcement Museum:
Due to open in 2011, the National Law Enforcement Museum will serve to promote a better understanding and appreciation of the vital contributions that law officers have made to the United States. From the first fatality in 1792, more than 17,500 law officers have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. However, despite the dangers and other difficulties of the job, more than 800,000 federal, state, and local law enforcement officers continue to proudly serve in communities across America, putting their lives on the line for the safety and protection of others. It is an incredible story of service and sacrifice that, for the most part, has gone untold. As a result, many Americans continue to take our police officers for granted.
