Last year ProQuest and Ex Libris joined forces with the purpose of enriching our current products and accelerating innovation for the world’s libraries. One of the most notable outcomes of this merger is that Summon became a key part of the Ex Libris product family.
This strategic opportunity enabled us to benefit from the power of Summon and Primo, cross-leveraging advanced technology, rich content, and joint expertise to further enhance each solution, providing greater value to Summon and Primo customer communities.
At the start of 2016 the combined talents of ProQuest and Ex Libris personnel identified opportunities to drive product enhancements for both Summon and Primo. As a result, 2016 was packed with product developments for improving user experience, enhancing performance, and building greater community collaboration. Summon customers were able to take advantage of enhancements to relevance ranking, Topic Explorer, and Database Recommender, a refreshed Summon user interface, product integrations with RefWorks and Altmetrics, and further improvements to system uptime.
More Innovation Ahead
Some exciting new capabilities and features are coming to Summon customers in 2017, with the aim of helping libraries strengthen their influence and place themselves in the heart of teaching, learning, and research.
