Specto includes a Metadata Assistant powered by Academic AI. It automates metadata generation by extracting descriptive information, identifying unique entities in digital files and linking related materials. However, libraries can also choose to manage and generate metadata manually, maintaining the same processes they have always used. All AI-generated metadata is reviewed and approved by library staff before it is finalized, ensuring accuracy and alignment with institutional standards. Read more on Clarivate Academic AI.
