Primo and Alma
Ex Libris is making Ukrainian available as a user interface language option for all libraries that use the Primo discovery service, which includes patron-facing search interface and related elements, and notification letters created in Alma.
Libraries taking advantage of these developments can further support the many librarians, researchers, professionals, and students who speak Ukrainian or are impacted by the recent developments in Ukraine.
We hope that having Ukrainian as a translated language will deliver opportunities to enhance discovery and access to important library resources, while also delivering language-specific patron communications, especially for those that may now find themselves at institutions in countries outside of Ukraine.
Resource Sharing: RapidILL
Ex Libris will be offering all Ukrainian libraries free use of the RapidILL interlibrary loan system in order to help support the academic community in Ukraine.
RapidILL will provide Ukrainian libraries with fast and easy access to the collections of a global community numbering more than 500 libraries.
Free usage of Rapid previously helped many libraries function during COVID as we launched a similar initiative. With many libraries and students unable to reach their buildings; RapidILL allowed librarians and students to access materials remotely. We hope that free usage of RapidILL during these times will help Ukrainian students and librarians continue to function until they can get back to normal.REGISTER
